Mahatet Exam is Teacher Eligibility Test. It is compulsory to pass this examination to get a job as a teacher in Maharashtra. The Mahatet examination is conducted through the Maharashtra State Examination Council. Students who have D.ed and B.ed. Those who have passed are eligible for this examination.
In the "Teacher Eligibility Test", there will be separate question paper for primary teachers (eg 1 to 5th) and upper primary (6th to 8th) teachers. Both the question papers will be mandatory for candidates applying for both levels The form and skill level of both the exams will be based on secondary and higher secondary school courses, respectively.
Required Marks for eligibility
Candidates with a minimum of 60% marks in this examination (55% marks for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Vimukta Jati / Tribe, Special Backward Classes, Other Backward Classes and Disabled Candidates) will be considered eligible.
Importance of exam
According to the provision of "Children's Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009", now all elementary teachers (exams 1 to 8th), are mandatory for the "Teacher Eligibility Test".

Examination process?
"Teacher Eligibility Test" will be organized by the government or the authority / organization appointed by the government. To meet the cost of this examination, the Authority / Institute will be able to charge a reasonable fee.
